  1. Thank you so much for release. Xfce is my favorite DE and I will download and fresh install it soon.
And for Chromium, maybe you can pull it for Debian repository as alternative, or hope it will available as Flatpak.

    1. I always go full circle Distro hopping but always find my way back to Mint. If you had a KDE version my hopping days would be over! Thank you for the great work and amazing Distro!

    2. If it become a flatpak, similar problems will happen, bad integration, fonts, codecs and plugins not working, long time to open… Well, flatpak is not perfect, the only good thing is that flatpak is 100% open source, from the community and decentralized but it suffers from similar problems of snap

  2. The best distro and the best flavor, thanks to all the Mint team and people who helped making this great release!

    1. In general I agree with you regarding Linux Mint, but as for Linus Mint 20, I have a list of a dozen programs I used to use but will not install in today’s Mint 20. Topgrade is the best of those I miss, followed by pyrenamer. As I am not a techie I have no chance at figuring out a work around. I hope they will work later in the development of Mint 20.

  3. thank you for your efforts, Mint team, for making our lives easier. looking forward to trying it and hoping to not switching to it from 19.3 until it gets more hardened. but i dont know, if experience is very good without issues then i’ll switch. and waiting for chat feature in warp* and its crossing the paltforms in future.

  4. you’re the best! So much looking forward to this release. Indeed best distro I’ve used and sticking with it. I hope our donations will provide a sustainable future. Many thanks and respect!

  5. Step 1: Hook up an external monitor to your laptop
Step 2: Set external monitor as primary
Step 3: disable laptop monitor (set to inactive)
    Step 4: log out
    Step 5: log back in
result: MUFFIN SEGFAULT, DESKTOP FALLBACK MODE, cannot log in with a screen disabled, screen positions not retained

  6. good afternoon, I would like to know how I can remove a GRU version of ubuntu that I have on my laptop, since whenever I install Linux mint I get the message of ubunto GRU and I don’t know how to remove it from the root so as not to be there every week I install the linux mint system who can help me since I only want to have linux mint it always happens to me and it is very annoying

    1. you can try a rescatux live usb . it has grub repair ability
at the least it should allow you to change the boot order

  7. Marvelous…….Thank You so much. I’m just about to switch from Xubuntu, so this is great timing.

  8. Hi,
Are you going to release a 32-bit version of Ulyana?
    I use the 19.3 version in a “HP Mini” old computer with “Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N270 @ 1.60GHz”, which doesn’t support 64-bit…
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Klaus
I’ve the same computer and it runs on Mint 19.3 64 bits Xfce witjh 2 go of ram. (but not with windows 7 or 10.)
      Good luck

  9. The LM 20 XFCE release is awesome. It fits on my super-durable 2-GB keychain thumbdrive and is always available for demonstration.

I found that with CUBIC, I was able to pull stuff out of LM 19.3 XFCE (and include nwipe) to get it to fit on the thumbdrive, but now LM 20 fits on it without any modification whatsoever.

Thank you everyone for your efforts in not only creating a new and updated version of LinuxMint XFCE, but making it with the same great advancements AND ALSO reducing its overall size.

    Jim in Oregon, USA

  10. Thanks for all your hard work. Running pretty well on my new ThinkPad P1 Gen 2 with dual 4k external monitors on a Thunderbolt 3 dock. Nice to see open source software “just work” there, wish the MacBook (on MacOS) could behave as well.

  11. Thank you for your continuous support. Linux Mint keeps my old 6 year old usable as it is not longer capable of running MS Windows 10 on 2GB of RAM. With Mint, I am able to use the laptop for learning new development languages. Kudos to the team!!!!

  12. what is different beetwen beta with relase? forexample i told no icon.cache for yellow icons but still no. i guess nobody don’t.

  13. Is there any reason why that by default on a laptop (it seems to be this way on at least v19 and v20 or so) that the tapping ones finger on the touchpad does not open/close programs like one would expect and one has to physically press the left click button near the touchpad for things to work which is more of a chore to use.

I can get it (taping ones finger on the touchpad) working but one has to tweak a small thing on the ‘Mouse and Touchpad’ section (i.e. ‘Devices > General’ and CHECK the ‘Tap touchpad to click’) for it to work like I think it should by default. or is there a reason this is not enabled by default on laptops?

    1. i also cdnt figure out a single reason for that. its surprisingly strange. lets not blaming anyone and learn. i ask Mint team to please teach us help us by explaining why this is so.

    2. It’s a preference thing, isn’t it? It’s not what I expect, fwiw, and personally I dislike it immensely and immediately turn it off when I encounter it. Not everything will be to your personal taste by default.

    3. @ Wilo

Keep in mind that on Windows, tapping the touchpad for a typical ‘left click’ is on by default. so I would assume this is more normal/expected behavior regardless of my personal opinion and that it would suit most people best since it’s more efficient vs physically pressing that button to left click near the touchpad which is a bit awkward to do. that’s why I am surprised someone would disable this behavior by default as it’s more efficient/simpler to use by a simple tap vs physically pressing the button near the touchpad.

so in other words… my opinion is most likely inline with what I would assume is the majority of people where as yours is not.

for the record… I am not dissing Mint as it’s a solid OS overall but this just seems like a weird default setting since it’s pretty safe to assume most people prefer simply tapping the touchpad to open/close programs as physically pressing that left click button on the touchpad area is a chore and makes more work on the user unnecessarily. with that said, I avoid using touchpad stuff as a general rule as I prefer to use a proper desktop with proper mouse+keyboard since it’s far easier. but for some slight use from time-to-time the touchpad on a laptop is passable for brief usage. but if I am going really use it, I would rather shift to a proper mouse etc.

    4. @Wilo

I don’t think it’s a assumption, but facts. look at how a typical laptop functions with a touchpad, it’s clearly inline with my preference. because while I get we all each can’t have everything in terms of a default, it’s just really odd that Xfce’s laptop touchpad does not function like a typical laptops does since it’s obviously more efficient/quicker to have the default like a typical laptops touchpad functions with a tap to open/close programs etc (using the physical click on the touchpad area is simply more difficult/awkward to use). this really goes without saying.

  14. (DOUBLE.THUMBS.UP) to the whole LM team!

On LAN file sharing, using netcat and samba is so discouraging to many people I’ve tried to introduce LM to. I later discovered BeeBeep, a great and free cross platform application, to transfer files across different computers. It has tons of features you can’t believe.

I’m glad that Warpinator has been finally integrated into LM. I hope the features can grow with time.

Well done, Team LM! Well done.

    1. thank you for telling about BeeBeep. it has everything except not present on mobile, still best for offices. maybe next best is kouchat and its also for mobile.

  15. I belive after this release many linux youtube chanel preview it.
i hope soon linux mint will be independent distro with native package and repo for linux mint, that’s will be great.

  16. Great job guys. I know you are getting a lot of flak for your recent snapd changes etc… I fully support your decision.

What I would love to see is simple. Help me easily configure and disable stuff. A key example of this is the touchpad on my laptop. Every time I accidentally click the “middle-button” I end up with whatever I am writing being deleted/have whitespace or whichever I last copied pasted over/into my current selection.

I have no easy way of disabling this “middle button” which actually doesn’t even exist on my laptop. It has no clear demarcations… I also don’t care about having a middle button. I only need a left/right.

Please update the Mouse and Touchpad settings tool.

  17. I installed Linux Mint 20 Xfce (definitive version), but unfortunately a chronic problem appeared. When I trigger the icon to turn off, the system does not shut down, is frozen, forcing me to cut the electrical power of the desktop to end the process. Does anyone have any solution to solve the problem?

  18. What happened to the Mint grub theme we had with Mint 19.3? I installed 20 and am back to the ugly, themeless grub menu.

    1. Answer: Hello, Bryan. Only wireless network I use is the internet signal, and it’s without sharing. My desktop does not network with other PCs.

  19. I really wish that Xfce would create the ( shutdown when lid closed ) tab in their Power Manager, I use SSD’s and sometimes ( a lot ) forget to shutdown the laptop before closing the laptop lid. Alas that is why even though I like Xfce better I use Mate and Cinnamon DE. I would think it would be easy to include this feature in Xfce but it doesn’t happen in more.

  20. Man, thank you!!! Mint is the easiest distro I’ve ever used and Xfce is my favorite DE. Greetings from Brazil

  21. I am installing Mint 20 in Virtual Box now, and the installation is maddening slow. It seems like the installation program decided to install libreoffice language packs for all the Earth languages (probably not the Earth only) which I will never use. I had not this problem with Mint 19.3 which was installing very fast.

    Please fix the installation program.

  22. I just installed Ulyana Xfce on my old Dell laptop with a Core i3, 8gb RAM and a 240gb SSD. Works great! I’m not a fan of the xubuntu-desktop xfce flavor that comes with Ubuntu, but Linux Mint tweaks it so it’s actually usable. One question though. Installing it to my SSD only created a 2gb swapfile by default. With 8gb RAM, don’t I need more swap space than that? I wasn’t given the option to create a 16gb swap partition during the install. I had to go back with gparted, reduce the size of /, create a new swap partition, then add it to /etc/fstab. Linux Mint used to do this by default. Are huge swap partitions deprecated now and 2gb swap files now the norm?

    1. It doesn’t see my mobile broadband connection, I don’t know how to connect to the the internet, so disappointed for me:(

  23. As usual, Ulyana sounds like a wonderful release. A big “Thank You” from this long time Mint user. I got so tired of setting up the Samba connections, permissions and directories just to do the occasional transfer. Warpinator should solve that. I will wait until the upgrade option appears in update manager before proceeding. I have a lot of very cosmetic touches (colors and fonts) and I wish to preserve them. Thank you for all your hard work!

    1. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to following the upgrade instructions when release versus doing a “clean install?

  24. I get no Grub/blank screen after install with nomodeset…. What should I do? I like the preview. Would love to get this working on my machine!

  25. Hi Clem,

Maybe a more universal approach would be considered as a better option – to have basic setup colors (like we have now) and then give the user possibility to adjust/set colors to their liking?
What it means is to give us, users a tool so that we could set colors/shades for ourselves.

This way, if someone doesn’t like (even slightly) the colors they are using, he/she could quickly change it or adjust to the color they prefer.

    Best regards,
    AMartin

  26. Hi:

I need to use lxd on my Desktop distro. I am having problems installing it, even when I comment out content of /etc/apt/preferences/nosnap.pref file.

Does anyone know how to ovvrcome this? I am wanting to install lxd version 4.2.

    Andrew

  27. Getting liberated from Windoze 7. Planning a new build that will use 64 bit Mint on a clean drive, and 64 bit Linux apps, but I have a drive from the old machine that is 32 bit Win 7 FAT32 that I want as a second drive. Will Mint be able to access the files on that drive (pics, Word, Excel etc)?

    Thanks from a Newbie.

  28. I know this may be jumping the gun but is there a way to use Timeshift to export your package list from 19.3 to be used on a fresh install of 20 as an upgrade path option

    1. The backup tool that comes with Linux Mint (mintbackup) has an option to backup and restore your software selection. However, I don’t know if this works across different versions of Mint.

  29. Hi,
    I found a bug:
Locking XFCE session in Linux Mint 20 Ulyana results of launching lightdm on TTY8. If you are music playing, it stops and resumes unlocking.
Expected behavior: music played in background and locker in TTY7 with password prompt as Cinnamon session.
    Workaround: disable autolocking.
    Regards,

  30. Adoro Mint xfce.

  31. What is the difference between the xfce, mate and cinnamon versions? How to choose?
    thankful!

Qual a diferença entre as versões? Como escolher?
    Grato!

    1. XFCE, Mate and Cinnamon are different desktop environments. The “main” software like web browser, media player, office software etc. are the same but the user interface looks slightly different and some of the system tools (like settings manager, file manager) differ.
Some people are very passionate about the different versions of Linux Mint. I’d say that which one you choose is mostly a question of personal taste. You might see some small difference in overall system performance but I’d say it’s probably only noticeable on very old machines. You’re more likely to decide based on look and feel or the availability of certain extensions that you like.

Linux Mint allows you to run a live session from a USB stick. That way, you can try out all three versions without installing anything on your computer.

    2. How do you choose between Xfce, MATE or Cinnamon? They’re free, so why not try all of them? You can download each ISO file and write it to a USB flash drive. Boot from the flash drive to the live desktop environment without installing anything on your hard drive. Try all 3 and see which one you like best.If you’re running Windows, you can use “Unetbootin” to create bootable USB drives from the ISO files.

Cinnamon is probably the best one to try first. It’s a good all around desktop environment. MATE is good if you are a die hard fan of the Gnome 2 desktop environment. Xfce is good if you want the lightest fastest desktop environment that uses less system resources.

  32. this is a great start I’ve been distro hopping for a while but this is the first one that has been able to make my wifi and bluetooth to work really well.
I’m here for the long term now, developers thank you very much

  33. hi guys
I have not expected too much from xfce but at least that I could somewhere configure single mouse click and an us-intl keyboard for portuguese language, what is in the list but does not work, also mouse acceleration does not stay where you set it, kind of poor, so I will not even try mate and set kde up on it, it might be heavier but there is everything n place and working smooth … and really you could reconsider kde because in comparison xfce is kind of a funny retro thing, cheers

    1. Yeah, I wish they’d reconsider KDE too. I was on Mint Xfce for many years before realizing how good Plasma 5 is. This realization then led me to KDE Neon, but I miss the simplicity of the Linux Mint tools (things like the update manager for example) and the very responsive and down-to-earth user forums. Then I hear about Clem’s principled stance and reasonable solution to the “snaps” problem and it makes me want to return to Mint soooo badly.

I’d switch back to Mint in a heartbeat if they revived the KDE edition. I’m not willing to install Plasma manually, so without a proper KDE edition I’ll just have to stick to KDE Neon.

  34. Looks nice so far, thanks!

Only gripe is the encryption option in the installer is now hidden away behind an option button, seems a strange decision in this day and age. I missed it the first time round 🙁

  35. For the XFCE release, MIME type for ‘inode/directory’ was set to “Disk Usage Analyzer” which breaks any workflow where an app needs to prompt the user to select a directory. This strikes me as being wrong, so to correct it go to “All Settings | MIMIE Type Editor” and set the filter to “inode”. You can then reset the default app to Thunar of whatever you prefer for a file manager.

  36. Great job, team! I’ve just installed the new xfce on an older laptop, and it’s working great. I had tried Cinnamon at first, but that was a bit slow. Xfce is stable and performant, and software gets installed easily!

  37. Almost bought a new laptop. Saw this release & gave it a try.I had been using Raspberry pc which is sort of ok but limited. Wow! Ulyana just works and is very speedy on a laptop built for XP. Forget the new machine.

Thanks to all the code writers. (and this version is so much better than some historical versions of the same)

    HP NX9420 4gb ram 500gb modern DD

  38. Linux Mint always exceeds my expectations! Thanks to the developers and everyone involved in the process of developing this system. Linux Mint forever!

  39. That is my problem. I will have to test them all. I have 2 notebooks. One with i3 processor – 1st generation and 4 GB of RAM, MINT Cinnamon19.3, sometimes heats up and shuts down.
On the other notebook, with i3 – 7th generation and 4 GB of RAM, MINT 19.3 Cinnamon with more than 6 windows on the chrome, sometimes hangs for a while.
In one, I will upgrade to 20 cinnamon, but in the other very old, I don’t know if I install MATE or XFCE. I will have to test it with a USB stick. Has anyone tested?
    Thank you!
    (translated by Google)

Esse é o meu problema. Terei q testar todas. Tenho 2 notebooks.
    Obrigado!

    1. To my knowledge XFCE is considered the lightest of the 3 Mint versions. So if your computer has trouble with Mint Cinnamon try XFCE. There might be other Linux versions that are specifically optimized for less powerful machines.

    2. 4gb of RAM is less. Install xfce for that. Moreover, installing 32bit OS will take even less RAM but many applications are not available for 32bit.
Hack: One more thing if you use web browser a lot as it fills the ram quickly, install 32bit chromium on 64bit OS of Mint, it helps a lot. But this trick works for Mint 19.3 and not for Mint 20.

  40. Hi Clem, I just installed the stable version (XFCE) and the window manager “emerald” is not working. I have installed it and it does not appear in the menu. And neither does a function that I set to have “soundlogin” start sound. Regards.

  41. Scaling seems to work fine overall, only the Mint themes don’t entirely take into account the x2 Window Scaling setting found in Settings > Appearance. The title font found in Settings > Window Manager does work, however; as well as the Default-hdpi theme, which unfortunately doesn’t look as good as the Mint-Y theme.

  42. The overall update is great, but I’ve found some bugs. First of all, brightness keys are not working. Second of all, I’m getting “decoding failed” error during booting the machine. Besides that, everything is great 😉

  43. Boot time after grub selection and before splash is almost 30 seconds on a ssd!
In all previous versions, even on hdd, boot in this point required a few seconds.
haveged did not solve the problem

  44. i burned mint 20 to my usb 2 flashdrive and the OS works just fine….. tried the install to my harddrive….. seems as though the OS didn’t take into account that some people use video cards on their desktop computers; got a ‘unsupported mode’ error 45 seconds after reboot to harddrive. linux mint 19.3 worked just fine on hard drive with the msi GEFORCE GT710 video card. Got any ideas on how to fix this? Otherwise i may just do a fresh install of mint 19.3. Thanks. In the meantime i will try pulling the video card out of my motherboard, and run for a while from VGA. Running on flashdrive with video card in place right now, while writing this message.

  45. Hello again…… read the release notes…. found this at the bottom, “After the installation, use “Advanced Options” -> “Recovery mode” from the boot menu and choose “resume”.” I’m now running the OS from the hard drive; while writing this message. Thanks Clem.

  46. Thanks for all the hard work on this!!
However: trying XFCE Live CD (without installing anything) I ran into two issues: 1- I accidentally hit full-screen button on the the XFCE settings dialog. I was unable to restore the window to the previous size using the restore button. I could change the window height grabbing the edges and move it around, but could not change the width at all.

2 – More serious, after trying the live CD, I re-booted my working system, all the desktop items were moved to the left side of my main display, the panel at the bottom was completely changed, (all items were pushed to the left side of the panel – can’t seem to fix that), and some items (Whisker menu and Firefox) disappeared. After adding it back on the panel, the Whisker menu layout is totally different from how it was before.

I don’t understand how or why trying the live session for several minutes would change anything on my main system.

I tried restoring things using a Timeshift backup from earlier this morning and that did not fix it. Nothing critical was lost, but I would like to restore my panel and whisker menus, and sort out why this happened.

  47. Saudações!
Alguém sabe como instalar o WARPINATOR no MINT 19.3?
    obrigado

    Greetings!
Does anyone know how to install WARPINATOR on MINT 19.3?
    thank you

    1. Hola Tadeu,

      sudo add-apt-repository ppa:clementlefebvre/grpc
      apt update
      apt install mint-dev-tools
      mint-build -i -g warpinator

  48. Hi guys – lmsensor and hplip don’t work on mint 20. No problems in 19.3
hplip: “note: Some packages may not get installed on python3 due to distro incompatibilites”

  49. psensor: “psensor : Hängt ab von: libsensors5 (>= 1:3.5.0) soll aber nicht installiert werden”

  50. Thank you very much Clem!
But I had a problem … The MINT 20 XFCE reported that it did not find the other computer. ” : / SOMETHING WENT WRONG”
MINT 19.3 was connected, it had found MINT20, but it was waiting for a bidirectional connection.
I tried to restart and it didn’t work. So, I reinstalled the warpinator on the MINT20 XFCE by the commands you instructed and when it restarted it worked!
    THANK YOU!

    Muito obrigado Clem!
Mas tive um problema… O MINT 20 XFCE informava que nao localizou o outro computador. ” : / ALGO DEU ERRADO”
O MINT 19.3 estava contectado, havia achado o MINT20, mas estava aguardando conexão bidirecional.
Tentei reiniciar e nao funcionou.

    Obrigado

I looked in the problem solving post, but I didn’t find…
THE WATCH marks a time that has not been enabled. mark in advance 5 hours and 08 minutes.
I’ve tried to change the time zone location, change the setting from “synchronized over the internet” to “manual”; nothing worked!
how do we post this bug?
      Thank you

  52. Hi guys. Both my old AMD tower PC (Mate) and an Acer Aspire Netbook (XFCE) have been updated to Mint20.
No problems at all updating both, although using the command-line rather than a GUI was a little unusual for me. Congrats’ to all involved. Sadly you have now dropped 32bit, but my really old Toshiba Satellite laptop will still be running for a few years yet on 19.3!

  53. Do I loose this space?

    LVM Detected

Your swap space is encrypted. An issue in Linux Mint 20 ‘Ulyana’ currently
prevents the use of encrypted swap.

This swap space will now be disabled.

  54. I think you mint people are releasing the new mint’s too soon. You need to make sure everything works properly before you call it stable. Maybe you need to get away from Ubuntu.

    1. Or maybe you should complain to someone else…these individuals are literally providing a service/product to you for free…the least you can do is help find some bugs…for f’n sake…sure complain to a corporation where you pay good money for a product and it is delivered too soon like M$ or the fruit company…but a Free Linux distro…one that has been in the top three for oh I don’t know….YEARS…and you’re going to complain like a whiny little b!tch…come on, dude…you can do better.

  55. Former Mate user here.

Thank you, Clem and crew, for this release of XFCE.

I recently performed a clean install of Mint XFCE 20 after having used the Mate desktop environment for many years and am very pleased with how fast and smoothly my computer runs. I don’t know why, but the Mate desktop environment had been running pretty slowly on my computer, both before and even after a hardware (motherboard RAM and CPU) upgrade I did to it back in March of this year. Now the computer is running faster and more smoothly then ever before since the hardware upgrade was done. I shall be installing Mint 20 XFCE on all of my other computers and laptops soon. Well, except for my Raspberry Pi’s. LOL!

I am once again pleased with how well my computer runs with Mint (17.3 Mate had been my favorite release until now, although I hadn’t used it in ages.) I have tried out other distros and always come back to Mint. In fact, it took my installing and running Debian (quite briefly) recently before I finally realized just how much work is put into basing a distro on it. Mint is my favorite distro because it “just works out of the box”, to coin a well used yet well deserved phrase.

Thanks to everyone on the Mint team for all of the very hard work that you have and continue to put in to this project. Keep up the great work! 👍

  56. I have updated the MATE version with no issues, however on the xfce version it doesntt recognise my NIC and never remembers the Wireless password despite it being populated and with MAC address. Works fine once I enter it but drops on a reboot or poweroff.

Had to get the NIC running by doing a timeshift, is this a known issue?

  57. Hi Clem, thanks for making Linux Mint available. I am enthusiastic about Warpinator. Will it be available in Windows and Android platforms? Ever since I had been using Android phones, I had been wondering why it seems to be difficult for Android phones to be connected to Linux PCs for data and file transfer but connecting to Windows is so easy. Considering Android also a form of Linux such difficulty in connection is baffling. If Warpinatior is available on Android it should facilitate files transfers.

  58. Hi Clem, I got error when “mintupgrade check”, that I saw others have gotten. Also if I do try to download there’s a complaint about froeign packages even though the software sources GUI shows none

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
    libgirepository-1.0-1 : Breaks: python-gi ( < 3.34.0-4~) but 3.26.1-2ubuntu1 is to be installed
    libssl1.1 : Breaks: python-httplib2 ( < 0.11.3-1) but 0.9.2+dfsg-1ubuntu0.2 is to be installed
    libssl1.1:i386 : Breaks: python-httplib2 ( < 0.11.3-1) but 0.9.2+dfsg-1ubuntu0.2 is to be installed
    python3-mako : Breaks: python-mako ( < 1.1.0+ds1-1) but 1.0.7+ds1-1 is to be installed

    1. Hi Stevo,

This is with mintsources 2.0.0.2 and mintupgrade 2020.07.18.1?

If so, first, do “mintupgrade restore-sources”, then can you try and remove python-gi and try “mintupgrade check” again? When/if you remove it, please tell us what else it removes (we’ve sent updates today to remove many of the dependencies on this package).

  59. Handbrake application seems to have problems with the new mint 20. Prior versions of handbrake under prior versions of mint work reasonably well. Am i seeing a compatibility problem? i suspect so. So the question is; is the developer of handbrake, fully up to date, as far as mint 20 is concerned? i think not. So, Clem, when the developer of handbrake figures out how to fix this; will the fix go out, according to the normal update schedule process is concerned?

  60. Does anyone know how to do this? about virtualbox. I use mint20cinnamon
    ///////Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)
The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver is either not loaded or not set up correctly. Please reinstall virtualbox-dkms package and load the kernel module by executing
    ‘modprobe vboxdrv’
    as root.
If your system has EFI Secure Boot enabled you may also need to sign the kernel modules (vboxdrv, vboxnetflt, vboxnetadp, vboxpci) before you can load them. Please see your Linux system’s documentation for more information..//////////
    THANKS

    obrigado.

  61. Hi, I want to congratulate you guys on the Xfce version, it means I can use this 2006 Laptop still and it is really nice to use. So thank you.

Quidam reditus, modo gallico sermone uti. dextera utebatur mus superest quodcumque manu dextra / utebatur occasum voles. Quam ut amplio est?

Hello. Maximum congratulations for the quality, beauty and speed of this new version 20.
    It is happiness!
Some feedback : I use french language. the mouse remains for right-handed, whatever the right-handed / left-handed setting you choose. How to improve this?

  64. Do you have version of Ulyana x86 architecture?

My laptop/ cpu read only 32 bit version. thanks in advance

    1. No, Ulyana is only 64bit (because the underlying version of Ubunty is only 64 bit).
For 32 bit you must use Tricia 19.3 or LMDE4.
You can find these versions in the Download /All versions section of the site

    1. Hi Reddy,

It depends on your wireless device. We ship broadcom drivers on the ISO. If you have a broadcom chipset, insert the Linux Mint live USB stick into the computer and run the Software Manager. It can install the drivers from the USB stick.

  65. Hello. After installing some recent updates (among them xorg-server and linux kernel) my machine no longer lets me sign in… I can enter the password, no error, but login screen remains. Any ideas? Same if I try to login via terminal. No prompt, but no login either.

  66. Dear Team LM

Sorry if it’s a noob question: How could I upgrade from LM 19.3 Cinnamon directly to LM 20 XFCE? I love Cinnamon, but I really need a lighter software.
    Thanks!

  67. Been using LM20Xfce for some months now, on multiple devices.
Best linux release I’ve used in decades. Super smooth. Compatible.
    Donated for the first time.
    Thanks!

  68. Hello…been using Mint since way back and various Linux’s since the 90’s. I have a fresh install of LM 20 XFCE and almost everything that I’ve tried so far has worked floawlessly and blazingly fast. I just have one thing to report. I have a laptop with an external monitor connected through HDMI but it seems to be confused and will only let me select the external monitor as the primary, with the menu and notifications, etc. I’ve tried the Display applet and even when I save the configuration it does nothing. If I unplug, then the Laptop monitor becomes the primary. When I plug back in, it goes back to the incorrect configuration.
    Thank you!

    1. I’m sure not until the after the final version is released. The last line of your link says this:
If everything goes as planned Xfce 4.16 should be released by November!

Maybe when 20.1 comes out, which should be around Christmas, it’ll have Xfce 4.16. But it might be a later version depending on the timing and initial issues if any.

    1. According to packages.linuxmint.com, xfce4-panel has been 4.14.3 since the release of Mint 20 Xfce. You can check what you have installed and what is available with apt update && apt policy xfce4-panel

  69. I ‘ve installed mint 20 Xfce (2 partitions, ‘/’ 15Gb and ‘/home’ 35Gb) but Grub was not installed. How can I install grub? The other system is Windows 10.

  70. i had downloaded two ISOs. one from LayerOnline & Clarkson University USA but both verify fails saying “bad sig”

  71. Thank you so much for release. Xfce is my favorite DE!!
I would like to see an easy install repository for Waterfox.
