Summary:

  • The overall income is up again, by 3% in February. This is particularly good considering there were only 28 days that month as opposed to 31 the month before.
  • Donations decreased. From $4,000 in December they’re down to $2,500 in February.
  • February was a very busy month for the team. 3 stable releases were out.
  • Although the most important Distrowatch indicator is down (traffic share: 4.6%), the distribution started to get more coverage in the press and in the media.
  • Development started on Linux Mint 9.
  • March should see the releases of the Xfce and LXDE editions.

  1. Bit confused, “Donations decreased” by $1,500 but “income is up again, by 3% in February”, where is the rest coming from? The sponsors amount hasn’t changed much, is it just from Google search income?

  2. I only recently started using this distro and it’s the best distro I have worked on ever! For 10 years I’ve been looking for a distro that could replace my windows. I love Linux and the idea of Linux, but don’t want to tweak and struggle with silly things each time I use my OS. Mint is the first OS that works as advertise.

i gave $20 i hope thats enough. Donating was easy and painless only takes a few minutes or seconds btw. Hope to see more donations. I’m using linux Mint 8 right now. I use it alot more than Vista. I think it’s great. Definately fun to get into. I already have a few themes installed I like how customizable the system is. Still having trouble with some printer hardware. For linux Mint 9 I can’t wait until that comes out. Thanks for the cool OS Clem. It was a pleasure donating. 😛

  4. Hi… i hope to have at least $20 USD to donate next month you make such a great work… i quite using linux… but found you and i love it… it is just so fun to use and easy….
